8.2 Changing the filter element
Filter elements wear out due to the absorption of solid particles
and / or the dissolved water in the fluid. The service life of a
filter element depends on the solid particle contamination in
the fluid / dissolved water and also the filtration rating. The
separation power decreases with increasing accumulation of
solid particles / water in the filter element. The differential
pressure over the filter element increases steadily over time
and is apparent electrically or visually by means of, for
example, a clogging indicator. If the differential pressure
exceeds the permissible pressure Δp of the filter element, the
element may burst. Monitor and change the filter element peri-
odically.
In this chapter, you will find the procedure for changing the
filter element. The following filter elements are available for the
filter unit:

NX9AM… AQUAMICRON Recirculation with filtration/
dewatering
NX9-xxxxx-F empty element Recirculation without filtration

Missing filter element/empty element
Leakages at the filter bowl.

Never operate the filter unit without a filter element or an
empty element inserted.
The filter element / empty element has two seal rings (901) +
(902) installed. Before assembly, check for damage and also
for the correct placement of the seal rings (901)+(902).
