Context

CAUTION

Debugging affects the performance of the system. After debugging, run the

undo debugging

all

command to disable it immediately.

When a VRRP fault occurs, run the following

debugging

commands in the user view to debug

VRRP and locate the fault.

Procedure

Run the

debugging vrrp packet

command in the user view to enable the debugging of

VRRP packets.

Run the

debugging vrrp state

command in the user view to enable the debugging of VRRP

status.

Run the

debugging vrrp timer

command in the user view to enable the debugging of VRRP

timer.

This section provides several configuration examples of VRRP.

7.11.1 Example for Configuring VRRP in Master/Backup Mode

Networking Requirements

As shown in

Figure 7-3

, Host A communicates with Host B through the default gateway.

The requirements are as follows:

The VRRP group that consists of SwitchA and SwitchB functions as the default gateway
of Host A.

SwitchA functions as the gateway. When SwitchA fails, SwitchB becomes the gateway.

After SwitchA recovers, it preempts to be the master router within 20 seconds.
