6.5 Setting PPPoE Parameters
Preparation
Obtain the PPPoE user name and password from the network carrier.
Description
If a PPPoE connection is used, you need to enter the user name and password on the
PPPoE
page. After you restart the device, the PPPoE settings take effect and the device obtains a
public IP address.
Procedure
Step 1
Choose Network Service > PPPoE.
The
PPPoE
page is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-7.

Step 2
Set the parameters according to Table 6-6.

Enable PPPoE
Indicates whether to enable the PPPoE
service.
[Setting method]
Select the check box.
User Name
PPPoE user name provided by the
network carrier.
[Setting method]
Enter a value manually.
Password
Password provided by the network
carrier.
[Setting method]
Enter a value manually.
Step 3
Click
OK
.
If the message "PPPoE Parameter Updated" is displayed, click
OK
. The system
automatically saves the settings.
If other information is displayed, set the parameters correctly.
