ip pim sparse-mode
Use the
ip pim sparse-mode
command to enable PIM Sparse Mode on the interface. Use the
no
form of
this command to disable PIM Sparse Mode.
Syntax Description
No subcommands.
Default Values
By default, PIM Sparse Mode is disabled for all interfaces.
Functional Notes
PIM Sparse Mode is a multicast routing protocol that makes use of the unicast forwarding table.
PIM-systems builds unidirectional shared trees rooted at a Rendezvous Point (RP) for a multicast group or
a shortest-path tree rooted at a specific source for a multicast group.
Usage Examples
The following example enables PIM sparse-mode on the HDLC interface
