When to Use This Section

Use this section for a brief description of the Event Management Service (EMS) and 
the tools used to monitor EMS event messages. 

What Is the Event Management Service (EMS)?

The Event Management Service (EMS) is a collection of processes, tools, and 
interfaces that support the reporting and retrieval of event information. Information 
retrieved from EMS can help you to:

Monitor your system or network environment 

•

Analyze circumstances that led up to a problem 

•

Detect failure patterns 

•

Adjust for changes in the run-time environment 

•

Recognize and handle critical problems 

•
