Managing wireless networks
Viewing or editing a network
To view or edit an existing or available wireless network, perform the following steps:
1.
On the
Today
screen, tap
Start > iPAQ Wireless > iPAQ WLAN
, or tap the
iPAQ WLAN
icon in the
lower right corner of the Today screen.
2.
Tap
Setup
.
3.
Select an existing profile from the
Profile
drop-down list.
4.
Tap the
Edit
button.
5.
Make the desired changes to the profile.
6.
Tap
OK
to save the changes.
Deleting a network
To delete a wireless network, perform the following steps to delete the profile:
1.
On the
Today
screen, tap
Start > iPAQ Wireless > iPAQ WLAN
, or tap the
iPAQ WLAN
icon in the
lower right corner of the
Today
screen.
2.
Tap
Setup
.
3.
Select an existing profile from the
Profile
drop-down list.
4.
Tap the
Delete
button.
5.
Tap
Yes
to confirm.
Monitoring signal strength and status
Perform the steps in either of the following scenarios to view the signal strength between the HP iPAQ
Pocket PC h5400 series with Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 handheld device and the access point WLAN
connection:
Note:
The signal strength icon will only display when a connection is present.
1.
On the
Today
screen, tap
Start > iPAQ Wireless > iPAQ WLAN
.

1.
On the
Today
screen, tap the
iPAQ WLAN
icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
2.
Tap
Setup
in the pop-up box that appears.
The signal strength appears in a triangular icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. The
signal strength displays as a percentage beneath the icon and as a colored area within the icon. A
green color indicates the stronger connection signal.
