Metering Unit
The metering unit is the main part of each row
unit. The metering unit is electrically driven and
individually controlled by a computer in the
adapter housing.
All parts inside of the metering unit are precision
parts, treat these parts with great care and avoid
exerting any excess force upon them. Do not oil,
grease or spray these parts with corrosion
protection agents. The parts would become
stuck together and become porous.
Attention: When changing parts on the metering
unit, be sure to only tighten screws by hand,
power tools will cause the screws to strip. To
prevent stainless steel screws from seizing,
cover them with anti-seize.
Metering Unit
The motor must not be
removed from the housing half.
When assembling disassembled metering units,
you should always make sure that the housing
parts are easily fitted by hand and fastened with
the star knob. Tighten both star knobs only hand
tight!

Emptying the Metering Unit
1. Place the meter emptying shoot under
the housing door.
2. Place a container under the shoot to
catch the seed.
3. Open the housing door and empty the
metering unit.
4. Unscrew the star knobs on the meter and
carefully pull the metering half off.
5. Remove the rest of the seeds with your
hands.
6. Slide the meter housing back together.
Check that the seed tube gasket is in the
right place and hand tighten the star
knobs.
Maintenance / Inspection
Check the metering unit every day for signs of
damage and clean with brushes and
compressed air. Do not use water.
