Setting the Planting Depth
The planting depth of the opening disks is limited
by the gauge wheels. The planting depth can be
adjusted in 12 increments from approx. 0.5” to
3.5”.

Adjusting the Planting Depth
• Lift the machine
• Remove the locking pin from the
adjustment pin, insert the pin at the
desired position and replace the locking
pin. Each adjustment by stage is approx.
0.25”.
The sequence of possible adjustments can be
found on the sticker in Pos. 1 from 0.5” to Pos.
12 with 3.5”.

available for your machine based on machine
model, configuration and user preference. See
your local authorized HORSCH dealer or model
year specific parts catalog for further information.
Decal for Planting Depth
Set the planting depth equally on
all drill units. Check the seed
placement whenever changing the
depth setting.
If the seed placement is adjusted deeper, you
must check the down pressure. If necessary, you
must increase the down pressure in order to
assure the planting depth.
The gauge wheels must be
pressed to the ground with
sufficient pressure and the wheels
must always turn, but the
pressure should not be higher
than necessary.
Adjusting the Down Pressure
During planting, the weight of the frame presses
the opening disc into the ground so that the
gauge wheels rest on the ground.
The down pressure additionally increased by
applying fan drive pressure to the down pressure
cylinders.
The down pressure can only be adjusted on the
valve while the fan is running.
Per 15 PSI hydraulic pressure, the opening discs
are pressed into the ground with an additional
force of approximately 2.2 lbs.
