Emptying Residues/Cleaning
When the tank is full a gate valve can be pushed
into the outlet funnel. The distributor can then be
opened for inspection, cleaning or emptying.
For emptying, place a container under the
distributor and pull the gate valve out slightly.
Gate Valve
Remember to close the SOD
distributor and return the gate
valve to it storage position.
Checks and Maintenance
• Check all hoses and connections every
day for leaks.
• Clean the distributor every week and
remove foreign objects from under the
grille.
Splitter Planter Configuration
When planting with standard rows on a split-
plant type machine (SW models 3115, 3215,
4715, 4815) the SOD manifold must not feed
seed through to the intermediate rows. The
machine is provided with plastic caps to close off
intermediate SOD manifold ports.
Disconnect the seed hoses on all odd row
number ports of the SOD manifold for a SW3215
& 4815 machine. Disconnect the seed hoses on
all even number ports of the SOD manifold for a
SW3115 & 4715 machine. Use the plastic caps
provided with the machine.
All disconnected hoses may be attached to the
storage location as shown below.
