Liquid Fertilizer System
The Maestro is equipped with a liquid fertilizer
system to place fertilizer in the seed trench.
Liq. Fert. Pressure Gauges
Centrifugal Pump
The pump is directly driven by the tractor’s
hydraulics. Sufficient oil must be supplied to the
pump to get the desired flow rate. The pump can
operate at up to 3000 psi continuously.

Filling/Emptying Tank
The liquid fertilizer tank has a capacity of 1000
gallons on SW2430 2-tank machines prior to
2018, and 730 gallons on all other model
machines to current date. To fill the tank,
connect the fill hose to the quick connect on the
side of the planter and with an external pump, fill
the tank.
To empty the tank, connect a hose to the quick
connect on the side of the planter and pump out
the liquid using the pump on the planter. Be sure
to stop the pump as soon as the tank is empty.
Running the pump without liquid in it will damage
the pump. A small amount of liquid will remain in
the bottom of the tank. Remove the plug on the
bottom of the tank to fully drain it.
Flow Meter
The standard flow meter that comes with the
machine is rated up to 15 gpm. If a higher flow
rate is required for your operation, a flow meter
with a higher flow rate is available. Contact your
HORSCH dealer for more information.
Filter
Check the filter (2) daily and replace it when
needed. A dirty filter can cause fluctuations in the
fertilizer placement.
Replacement filter cartridges are available from
your local authorized HORSCH dealer.
