Troubleshooting
Examine the charts below to see if you can solve any problems with the DeltaMyc.
The DeltaMyc components contain no user-serviceable parts. Please contact your local
HORIBA Scientific representative if you require technical support. Contact details for
the main offices are provided on the front page of this guide. If it is necessary to open
the FluoroHub module, this should be carried out only by personnel qualified to work
with electrical equipment that operates at AC (mains) voltage. The product must be dis-
connected from the AC (mains) electricity supply before the top cover is removed.

Possible reason
Steps to resolve the issue
Microscope lamp
does not switch ON
The lamp AC power
(mains) is not con-
nected
Connect an AC (mains) cable to the
microscope frame. In standard config-
uration, the USB switch is connected
between the microscope frame and the
wall socket.
The bulb needs to
be replaced.
Please check the Olympus documenta-
tion supplied with the microscope
frame, and replace the lamp bulb.
The lamp is ON but
the intensity is set
to the minimum.
Rotate the lamp-intensity knob to in-
crease its power. Make sure that the
preset button has not been pressed ac-
cidentally, and that the O/1 switch is
ON.
The microscope lamp
is ON but the sample
is not illuminated
There is no filter-
cube in the micro-
scope illuminator.
Check that an appropriate filter-cube is
selected on the illuminator. Usually
use position 2 for white-light imaging
(BS = beam-splitter or BF = bright
field).
The illuminator
shutter is closed.
Open the microscope illuminator shut-
ter by sliding the shutter switch.
The DeltaDiode
source is ON but
there is no laser spot
on sample
The sample is very
absorbent at the la-
ser wavelength.
Examine the beam with a piece of pa-
per.
The illuminator
shutter is closed.
Open the microscope illuminator shut-
ter by sliding the shutter switch.
The selected filter-
cube blocks the la-
ser wavelength.
Choose a position in the illuminator
where there is no filter-cube. Usually
this is position 1.
