Adjusting Cutter Bar Sensors for Reel Height Control
In certain situations, it may be necessary to adjust or re-align the cutter bar sensors for the
reel height control. Should these sensors become misaligned or require adjusting, proceed
as follows:
1. With the header and reel fully raised, set the
parking brake, reel lift locks and feeder house
cylinder locks. Shut combine engine off and
wait for all moving parts to come to a
complete stop.
2. Remove the feather plates from the header by
first removing the guard nuts that secure the
feather plate tabs; then lift the whole feather
plate out.
3. Next, verify that the cutter bar is set level.
From the side of each suspension paddle,
measure the distance between the back of the
cutter bar and bottom of the deck. This
measurement should be consistent.
