Description

Pressure
4 – 20 hPa
•
•
The pressure is the CPAP mode
therapy pressure, which is applied
to the patient continuously.
In APAP mode, this determines the
start pressure of the therapy.
I-FLEX
Off, Low, Medium, High
•
•
The I-FLEX setting individually adapts
the therapy pressure to the respira-
tory flow of the patient. The increase
in pressure during the inspiration
phase depends on the respiratory
flow volume, the set I-FLEX and the
set therapy pressure.
Maximum Pressure Increase
1 – 3 hPa
•
•
Describes the maximum value by
which the therapy pressure is raised
during inspiration when the I-FLEX
function is activated.
E-FLEX
Off, Low, Medium, High
•
•
The E-FLEX setting individually adapts
the therapy pressure to the respira-
tory flow of the patient. The decrease
in pressure during the expiration
phase depends on the respiratory
flow volume, the set E-FLEX and the
set therapy pressure.
Maximum Pressure Decrease
1 – 3 hPa
•
•
Describes the maximum value by
which the therapy pressure is reduced
during expiration when the E-FLEX
function is activated.
IPAP
7 – 25 hPa
• • •
•
IPAP (= inspiratory positive airway
pressure) is the treatment pressure,
which is applied to the patient for
each mechanical ventilation during
inspiration. The set IPAP value is not
summed up to the set EPAP, but
instead represents the maximum
inspiratory pressure.
EPAP
4 – 20 hPa
[EPAP ≤ IPAP-3 hPa]
• • •
•
The EPAP (= expiratory positive air-
way pressure) is the positive pres-
sure which is available to the patient
during expiration before starting the
new inspiration. It can be sponta-
neous as well as mechanically con-
trolled.
