Using oxygen
Risk of fire and burning!
Oxygen sources should be placed at least 1 m away from the
device to prevent a risk of fire and burning.
Please note:
•
Before using oxygen, read the safety instructions from see also page 27.
•
Using oxygen affects the therapeutic pressure. This is why we recommend using oxy-
gen as early as during the titration process.
•
The oxygen supply must be switched off whenever the device is in standby mode or
switched off.
Oxygen supply is possible in all modes. Please note that any changes to the therapy param-
eters, e.g. pressure, I:E ratio, frequency, will lead to a change of the FiO
2
concentration.
When supplying oxygen, make sure to use a kink-resistant tube as per EN ISO 5359 made
of a medically approved material. To prevent oxygen from flowing back into the device,
an O
2
safety valve must be used.
