Communication with the OT-network
To communicate with the connected OT-network the Edge Server uses,
among other protocols, the protocols SNMP (Simple Network Management
Protocol) and ARP (Address Resolution Protocol). In addition to this,
PROFINET protocols are used for communication with PROFINET devices,
and an IO-Link UDP protocol transmitting encapsulated IO-Link data is
used for communication with IO-Link master devices in the OT-network.

Access rights to the REST API
Access to the REST API is governed by rights as follows:
1. In order to request data from the Edge Server using the REST API
(HTTP method GET), read access rights are required.
2. In order to make changes within the Edge Server using the REST API
(HTTP methods PUT and POST), write access rights are required.
3. You can check whether you have the required access rights via the
menu entry
4. Granting read and right access rights requires administrator rights and
is described in section
