Before contacting HID Technical Support:

Position a phone near the printer and computer so the Technician can help to troubleshoot the 
printer. 

Have a self-test and a sample card ready when calling HID Technical Support. 

7.1

Reading the Serial Numbers on a FARGO Printer

To determine when the card Printer was manufactured, see the serial number (affixed to the card 
printer). 

With the Example: 

Serial Number B2050028 (2012)

The first two digits in the serial number indicate the year the printer was built 
(B2 indicates the year 2012).

The third and fourth digits in the serial number indicate the week the printer was built 
(05 indicates week 5 of that year).

The last four digits indicate the sequence number for the numeric order in which the printers were 
built.
