OPERATION AND APPLICATION
KT19 II
20/06/19e
HEITRONICS Infrarot Messtechnik GmbH
5.3.
Check routines
Detected errors are reported according to the specific use of the instrument.
5.3.1.
Error detection via interface
If the Infrared Radiation Thermometer is communicating via serial interface and errors occur, they are au-
tomatically output via the latter as text.
If KT19 II interface is programmed for repetitive temperature output, an error message is output instead of
a temperature value.
Error reports are described in an instruction manual as follows:
UNIVERSAL PROTOCOL
Communication via Serial Interface
for all digital HEITRONICS Infrared Radiation Thermometer
5.3.2.
Error detection via display
The following error reports are displayed:
Display
Description
1
UNDERFLOW
The measuring temperature is below the instrument measuring range.
2
OVERFLOW
The measuring temperature is the instrument measuring range.
3
CHAN.1 OVERFL.
Internal miscalculation.
4
MOD. FREQ
Rotational speed of the modulator is outside the limit.
5
REF. OVERFLOW
The internal temperature is above the permissible sensor temperature.
6
SPEC. RANGE
Error occuring due to switching between spectral ranges (only valid for
instruments with several spectral ranges).
7
INIT. ERROR
Initialization error of the instrument.
8
CHECKSUM
Data memory is partly destroyed.
9
EXTERN OVERFL.
The voltage at the external temperature input is above the operating range
(0 to 10 V).
10
EXTERN UNDERFL.
The voltage at the external temperature input is below the operating range
(0 to 10 V).
