Operation
Operation
General notes
During operation, always comply with the following instructions and all generally valid
regulations and rules on handling laboratory equipment and systems.
RISK OF INJURY
When handling cell cultures, always comply with all relevant safety
instructions and hazard warnings, and specific regulations for the
respective substances/cultures when handling cell cultures.
➜
The evaluation of potential hazards and specification of relevant
safety precautions is the sole responsibility of the owner/
operating company!
➜
Refer to the relevant safety data sheets if applicable.
The manufacturer/distributor of the incubation system does not
accept any liability whatsoever for direct and/or indirect damage
caused by disregard of required safety measures or relevant safety
instructions and hazard warnings, and specific regulations for
handling cell cultures.
SUFFOCATION HAZARD
Check the CO
2 tubing for tight fit regularly and before activating a
process: if using large containers or in the event of supply via the
CO
2
line of the building installation, CO
2
that escapes in case of a
fault poses a suffocation hazard.
➜
The owner/operating company must provide a gas detection
system, depending on the work environment and the size of the
containers.
LOSS OF PRODUCTION
To prevent damage to the cell cultures, make sure that the
equipped S-rack and/or the equipped S-boxes are not tilted too far.
Always ensure that the S-rack is in a horizontal position and the
S-boxes are kept horizontal. The tilt tolerance is ± 1.5 ° in all
directions.
➜
From a tilt of ± 1.5 ° the S-box generates an acoustic warning
signal. Align the S-box horizontally immediately and check the
condition of the cell cultures in it if necessary.
Starting the system
➜
Make sure that all system components are supplied with power (see section “Power
supply” on page 49).
➜
Open the Home page of the system software on the terminal device use (if using
the optional MacBook Air of Apple Inc. Cupertino CA., the Home page appears
automatically on opening the PC).
➜
Click the S-ware icon to start the S-ware.
