THE HASSELBLAD MANUAL

Many photographers ﬁ nd it best to follow a moving subject with a handheld camera,

especially when the subject changes speed or direction, as birds or ice hockey players might.
If the subject moves along a straight line, such as a racing car or an athlete in a 100-meter
sprint, a tripod-mounted camera is more likely to produce successful results.

APERTURE AND SHUTTER SPEED OPERATION

Setting and changing apertures and shutter speeds for creating visually effective images on
ﬁ lm or digitally can be done fast and easily when both the aperture and the shutter speed can
be changed without altering the exposure; that is maintaining the EV value. This is possible on
all Hasselblad cameras used both in ﬁ lm or digital photography.

On the H cameras you simply turn the front control wheel on the LCD grip (see Chapter

4 for details). On all shutter lenses, interlock the aperture and shutter speed rings (see details
in this chapter under “Exposure Values”).
