Spot Mode
: When set to ZONE, allows convenient locking of a spot meter reading with the AE-L
button. The camera assumes that the meter reading was made of an 18% refl ectance area for a
Zone 5 reading. If you do not plan to use this option, set it to NORMAL.

Focus Aid in MF : Allows you to set the arrowhead focus aids so that they are always visible in
the fi nder (ALWAYS), visible only when the release is pressed halfway (HALF PRESS), or never vis-
ible (OFF). HALF PRESS is the suggested setting.
●
AF Assist Light : The AF assist light in the H camera grip is actuated when the custom option is
set to CAMERA. The EXTERNAL FLASH setting actuates an AF assist light in an external fl ash unit
if equipped for it.
●
Rear Wheel Quick Adjust : Set to YES, allows the rear control wheel to make EV (exposure)
adjustments in the automatic modes by changing either the aperture or the shutter speed. Great
for manual bracketing. Set to NO, the rear wheel changes the EV (aperture and shutter speed
simultaneously) to maintain the same exposure as turning the front wheel does.

Control Lock
: When set to ALL CONTROLS, locks all controls and buttons except the release. Set
to WHEELS, it locks only the control wheels. OFF disables all locking functions.

Film Wind-On : Only on H2 and on H3D and only with fi lm magazine attached. Set to DIRECT
(instant), winds the fi lm immediately to frame 1 when the fi lm magazine is attached to the cam-
era in Active or Standby mode or when the fi lm holder is inserted into a magazine attached to
the camera. Setting to HALF PRESS, winds the fi lm to frame 1 when the release is pressed halfway
for the fi rst picture.

Beeper : When set to ON, enables the sound signal to be used in different situations.

Show Histogram
: When using a digital back that supports this feature, the YES setting displays a
histogram of a digital exposure on the LCD screen after a picture is taken.
●
Interval and Self-Timer : STAY leaves the Self-timer or Interval mode active after the exposure.
Goes back to the standard setting in EXIT.

AE Lock and Quick Adjust
: SAVED setting retains an AE Lock setting and exposure adjustment
made with the rear wheel. At EXP RESET, both the AE lock and the quick adjust are reset to the
standard setting.

Show EV
: Displays EV values on the grip LCD display when set to YES.
●
Show ISO : Shows the ISO setting on the grip LCD display, if set to YES.
●
Exp Adjust Increment
: Sets EV change made with the rear wheel at fi xed exposure adjust-
ments to increments of 1,

Bracket Param. in Manual
: Selects the aperture or the shutter speed in a manual bracketing
sequence.
●
Aperture Ctrl. in Manual : Changes in the aperture are made either with the front wheel or the
rear wheel. Using the front wheel is suggested.
●
Low Flash Warning : ON shows Low Flash Warning on display.
●
Interval Timer Initial Delay
: Can be programmed from 0 to 60 seconds.
●
Aperture Indication
: The recommended NORMAL shows conventional display.
●
AE Lock Button Function : Set to AE lock to set that function, can be re-assigned to many other
functions shown at the bottom of the screen.
●
Stop Down Button Function
: Set to Stop Down for that function. Can be reassigned to many
other functions shown at the bottom of the screen.
●
MUP Button Function
: Set to Mirror Up if you want to make exposures in the pre-released
mode. Can be reassigned to many other functions shown on the screen.

Extra Mirror Delay : Delay between mirror-up and actual exposure can be programmed and is
described in more detail below under New Options on H3DII camera models.
