recommended to leave the two on the default setting of 5. You can further save power with
the Power Down option which is also part of the User Interface one step below the Language
option. It can be set to times between 3 and 99 minutes. At the set time, the power in the sen-
sor unit turns off, which is the same as turning off the power to the camera with the ON/OFF
button on the H camera grip. You must turn on the camera before you can continue working.
SHUTTER DELAY, EXPOSURE TIME, AND CAPTURE SEQUENCE
The navigating control is also used to select Shutter Delay and Exposure Time.
Shutter Delay
The shutter delay varies between camera models, especially between SWC models and the
SLR types where the mirror needs to be lifted before an exposure can be made. The dig-
ital backs are set for a default setting that should not be changed unless problems are
encountered.
Exposure Time
Exposure Time does not have to be set if the exposure times are

second or shorter.

is the default setting. For cable-free operation at longer shutter speeds set the exposure time
to match the shutter speed set on the lens. The ELD also has a bulb setting usable for expo-
sure times up to 32 seconds. As another option you can keep the default setting of

/
8
second,
but use longer shutter speeds and the B setting by connecting the Flash sync cable between
the PC socket and the digital back.
Capture Sequence
The Capture Sequence setting works only in combination with motor-driven cameras with
the Initial Delay, the time required to make the fi rst exposure. Delay controls the time
required between exposures, and Count controls the total number of exposures that are
required.
To set the Capture Sequence, go to the Menu and with the navigation controls go to
Settings. Open the Settings menu, select Camera, and open the Camera menu. Use the or
buttons to select Pinhole. Use the up and down navigating control to select Exposure Time,
and use the
or control to select the exposure time. Depress the lower part of the
Navigating button to select Capture Sequence then press the right navigating control part to
open the Capture Sequence.
Press the or buttons to Initial Delay and set delay. Use the or buttons to select
Delay and make the setting then use the or buttons again to select Count and set the
number of exposures in the sequence.
Press OK to confi rm all settings. The Menu/Exit button now displays Start. Press start to
get the sequence running.
