IDENTIFICATION OF SPECIFIC
PROPELLER CRITICAL PARTS.
(1) Hydraulic Unit Installation
WARNING:
CLEANING AGENT MEK IS
FLAMMABLE AND TOXIC TO THE
SKIN, EYES AND RESPIRATORY
TRACT. SKIN AND EYE PROTECTION
ARE REQUIRED. AVOID PROLONGED
CONTACT. USE IN A WELL
VENTILATED AREA.
(a) Clean the engine case, where the hydraulic unit
cylinder mounts, with Quick Dry Stoddard Solvent or
MEK. Remove any remaining gasket material from
previous installations.
(b) Remove the piston from the cylinder by sliding it
away from the cylinder and off the piston guide rods.
NOTE: The jack plate unit will be attached to the
piston through the thrust bearing interface
with the piston.
(c) Expose the inner cavity of the cylinder for installation
on the engine case.
1 Remove the screws from the retaining outer ring
of the flexible diaphragm.
2 Remove the outer ring from the flexible
diaphragm.
3 Remove the screws from the retaining inner ring
of the flexible diaphragm.
4 Remove the inner ring.
5 Remove the flexible diaphragm.
