Pre-Operating Section
Before your leaf vacuum is put into operation it is very important
to read and follow the procedures outlined in the engine owner’s
manual. (EOM).
2.3 Preparation For Operation
For specific information regarding the following checks please refer to the
“Maintenance” section of this manual and the engine owner’s manual.

DISENGAGE the clutch and remove the negative battery cable be-
fore performing the following checks.
NEVER place any part of the body under or behind guards or any
other area in which you cannot see.
NOTE:
The following checks contained in the next three sections
should be performed prior to leaving the storage area.
Check engine fuel, coolant and oil levels. (see EOM)
Check engine air filter
Check all bolts and nuts to ensure they are tight.
Check all controls for free and proper operation.
Check main drive belt (if equipped) for proper adjustment.
Inspect the fan blades to ensure that they are not bent , deformed,
fatigued or cracked. Replace fan if any damage is present.
Inspect the intake hose flange to make sure it is connected correctly
to the blower housing.
Inspect the leaf vacuum frame and structure for any bent, broken,
cracked, missing or loose parts.
Check all guards to ensure they are undamaged, in place and prop-
erly secured.
All decals must be in place and legible prior to operating the leaf
vacuum. See the decal section for decal replacement.
