Shelter Care and Maintenance
SHELTER CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Proper care and maintenance of shelter is important.
Check these items periodically to properly maintain the
shelter:
• Regularly check cover to ensure it remains tight and
in proper repair.
•
Replace all damaged or broken components
immediately.
• Check connections and all fasteners to verify they
remain tight and in good condition.
• Do not climb or stand on building at anytime.
• Inspect anchoring system to verify all components
remain tight and in good condition.
• Verify that side panel components are in good working
condition.
• Do not allow roll-up panels to remain open for
extended periods without closing them periodically to
allow panel material to dry out.
• Replace anti-billow rope immediately if worn or
broken.
• Remove debris and objects that accumulate on
building. Use tools that will not damage cover when
removing debris.
• Remove snow to prevent excess accumulation. Use
tools that will not damage cover when removing snow.
Keep heated during non-growing season to prevent
snow and ice buildup, or remove cover.
• Check high tunnel contents to verify nothing is
touching cover that could cause damage.
• If high tunnel is dismantled and moved, inspect all
parts and connections before using.
