MID RAFTERS WITH SUPPORTS — STYLE B

Upper struts and crossbars attach to rafters using band clamps. During assembly of the Style B rafter, slide the band

clamps onto rafter tubes and assembled crossbar

before

you install the connecting bolts and attach crossbar to

rafter. Review diagram below to identify strut and band clamp positions and assemble as needed. Use the assembly

steps on previous page as a guide. Set these Style B rafters aside in an accessible location to be used during frame

assembly.

ATTENTION:

Although a bit more difficult, band clamps can be added after rafter is assembled and before struts are

installed.

Rafter Assembly — Style B

ATTENTION:

TO MAINTAIN A UNIFORM RAFTER APPEARANCE, ASSEMBLE ONE STYLE B RAFTER AND USE

IT AS A TEMPLATE TO ASSEMBLE THE REMAINING STYLE B RAFTERS.

Style B Rafters with supports are not

installed in either end rafter position on the frame.

Complete these general steps:
1.  Review all diagrams to determine parts and part locations for assembly.
2.  Slide the QH1404 band clamps into position on the disassembled rafter pipes then assemble rafter.
3.  Slide the QH1402 band clamps into position on the disassembled crossbar pipes then assemble crossbar.

Secure

each crossbar tube splice using a Tek screw.

4. Fully assemble and attach rafter support components and tighten band clamp bolts.
5. Install a Tek screw through each band clamp and into rafter and crossbar pipes. Install Tek screws in locations that

will not contact the roof film when it is installed.

6. Continue with the next procedure.
