Baseboard Installation — Required
BASEBOARD INSTALLATION — REQUIRED
Gather the parts:
• 2" x 6" treated (if allowed) lumber (supplied by
customer).
• 1/4" x 4" Carriage Bolts (FAH009B), FAME50B (1/4")
flat washers, and FALB01B (1/4") nuts (included).
When properly installed, baseboard runs length of frame
at ground level.
Baseboard is supplied by customer.
The following procedure describes one way to install
baseboards. The size and type of baseboard may require
the use of alternative steps.
Outside the frame, attach first baseboard to rafter using
two (2) 1/4" carriage bolts and nuts. Continue adding
baseboards to complete first run.
Secure splices between posts as shown in drawing
below. Use a short section of baseboard to secure
separate baseboards at a splice. See diagram below.
Never attach ends of two separate boards to same
ground post. Always splice between rafters.
Repeat steps to attach a second run of baseboard to
remaining side of frame.
The above diagrams present examples only. Actual installation
depends on customer-supplied materials and other factors.
