/ Translation of the original instructions
blade tips: they must be without play, but free to float if they hit an object.
In order to avoid damage to the
blades, the torque of the blade pin must be of 90 Nm. To remove a blade disc, hold it firmly using safety gloves and
unscrew the fixing plate and the central screw. Caution: the right blade central fixing screw has a left-handed thread
(fig. 23, B).
Caution:
Always replace damaged or bent blades; never ever try to repair them! ALWAYS USE
ORIGINAL BLADES!
ADJUSTMENT OF THE MOWER DECK
A mower deck perfectly adjusted is essential for achieving a uniform cut. With the machine on a flat surface, check
the tyre pressure. To set the mower deck parallel to the ground use the appropriate rods (fig. 32, A). To remove the
deck from the mower, unhook the two side brackets (fig. 21, A) and the two pins (fig. 25). Unhook the “quick” hook
on the grass chute (fig. 33) and pull forward the whole cutting deck.
Caution! When refitting the deck always
remember to reconnect the pto joint
. The load chute must be screwed two complete turns and must not hit the
turbine wheel.
GRASS-CATCHER
Always keep the grass-catcher grid thoroughly clean. To remove it (fig. 10), remove the safety pin (fig. 15) and
lower the safety lever (fig. 16). Inside the grass-catcher a sensor is located (fig. 14, A) disengaging both the turbine
and the blades when the grass-catcher is full. This micro-switch can be adjusted (fig. 14, B) to ensure an even and
uniform filling of the grass-catcher depending on the type of grass (longer/shorter grass – dry/wet grass). When
lowered into the working position, the grass-catcher will have to be perfectly aligned with the turbine joint (fig. 43).
There will have to be a 2-3 mm clearance between the joint holder plate (fig. 43, A) and the rubber buffer (fig. 43,
B). To carry out this adjustment reset the position of both the turbine chute and its joint (fig. 44) using the eight
screws, and shift the grass-catcher forwards or backwards using the rear hinges and changing the length of the
grass-catcher tilting cylinder rods (fig. 45). When the grass-catcher is lowered into the working position, the safety
micro-switch (fig. 47) located on the left side has to be completely pressed; as soon as the grass-catcher is lifted
and the turbine joints detaches from it, this micro-switch must detect the opening and disengage the PTO.
CAUTION: for the maximum operator’s safety, make sure this micro-switch is always properly adjusted.
PTO BELTS
CAUTION: These belts are special, ONLY USE GENUINE BELTS. To replace them, loosen the rod (fig. 6, A). To
set the tension use a 19mm spanner on the nut, adjusting the tension spring. The spring must be compressed to the
length indicated by the red arrow.
CLUTCH-BRAKE FOR PTO
The FD2200 TS stage V is equipped with a multi-disc electro-hydraulic clutch for PTO (fig. 34) activated via button
on the dashboard (fig. 2 no.7). During work with the PTO engaged, the friction material discs are pressed against
each other by the oil pressure. To make this happen, the working pressure is calibrated at
9,5 bar
with clutch
disengaged (when the clutch is engaged the pressure is set at about 8,5 bar). All clutches are tested under
pressure to prevent oil leakages. This construction design guarantees a long working life and a gentle activation.
In order to meet
legal requirements
, the
PTO clutch
has a brake that stops the cutting blades within
7 seconds
from the moment the clutch is disengaged. Due to the wear of the brake friction material (fig. 34 no.3) blades may
need more than 7 seconds to stop, in that case it is necessary to re-establish the distance between the piston (fig.
34, n. 4) and the clutch housing (fig. 34, n. 5) at 37 mm as per factory calibration.
Follow the instructions below:
1) Switch off the machine.
2) Loosen the counter-ring (fig. 34 no. 1).
3) Reset the distance between the piston (fig. 34, n. 4) and the clutch housing (fig. 34, n. 5) at 37 mm by adjusting
the counter-ring (fig. 34, n. 2).
4) Lock the counter-ring (fig. 34 no.1) against the ring (fig. 34, no.2).
After adjusting it, make sure that the blades stop in less than 7 seconds. Should this not be the case contact an
authorized Grillo dealer because the machine does not meet the
safety standards
and cannot be therefore used in
a safe way.
IMPORTANT
: The PTO engagement can be inhibited by activating the button on the left side of the operator’s seat
(fig. 49). If the operator then tries to engage the PTO via the appropriate button on the dashboard (fig. 2, n. 7) a
flashing icon on the dashboard will appear and indicate that the PTO cannot be engaged. This option can be
chosen whenever the operator wants to work with the turbine only.
GRASS-CATCHER LOCK HOOK
The grass catcher lock hook can be adjusted via the appropriate screw. Leave 2 mm free-play to make the hooking
easier when closing.
