VOIP GATEWAY32 provides IP route and PSTN route:
IP Route
:
Register IP Route
:
send call request to registered server
P2P IP Route: inquire matched destination IP address according to P2P IP
route table, and send call request
PSTN Route: call from PSTN side through FXO port
。
For SIP protocol, the IP route can be divided into Register IP Route and P2P IP Route,
which means SIP protocol can support register call and P2P call at the same time; H.323 can
not support both together: if enable registration, the call will choose Register Route, and if
disable the registration, the call will choose P2P Route, and choose “IP”
Tips
If VOIP GATEWAY32 is not equipped with FXO, or FXO port does
not connect to PSTN line, PSTN routing function will be unavailable
Default route is PSTN Route. If the route is not configured, it will
choose PSTN route to call out.

In actual applications, IP network, VOIP products sometimes may have troubles, which
cause the VOIP call not work. VOIP GATEWAY32 can provide backup route if IP route can
not get through, which can guarantee the reliability of the call. IP fall back function can be
controlled by the switch.

For SIP protocol, the fallback within IP net process sequence is:
Register IP Route -> P2P IP Route -> Internal Call
1) If register fails, or the call sending to the server fails, and this gateway’s “Fallback to
P2P” is enabled, the call will fall back to P2P IP Route, and call the destination
directly according to the parameters set in Peer o Peer “Route Calling Route Table”;
2) If P2P call fails, and this gateway’s Fallback to local is enabled, and callee and the
caller belong to the same R32, the call will fall back to internal and the internal of
product will renew the call request;
If the function of “Fall back to P2P” is disabled, IP call which fails will fall back to "fall
back to local”. If this function is still disabled, It will go to the next step in section
6.8.2.2
.
For H.323 protocol, fallback within IP net process sequence is: IP net -> Internal Call
Because H.323 protocol can not support register IP route and P2P route at the same time,
so no matter the registration function is enabled or not, as long as the fallback within IP net is
enabled, IP call which fails will fall back to the judgment for internal call directly. While if
fallback within IP net function is disabled, IP call which fails will go to the next step for
