Craft Port / Contact Sense Pinouts
(Interface “D” in
The SC-SDT Craft (or console) port is provided by the RS-232-compatible DB25 connector at the
rear shelf slot. This interface supports 9600bps asynchronous data and provides terminal interface
control of the unit by direct connection to a local VT100-compatible ASCII terminal. Connection
to the Craft port requires a straight-thru RS232 DB25 cable.
The Contact Sense port is also provided by the same DB-25 connector at the rear shelf slot. This
interface can connect up to eight contact relays for sensing user-defined contact alarms as Normally
Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). The table below describes the pinouts for the craft function
and the contact sense function, both of which can operate simultaneously at this interface.
Note
For more information on Contact Sense, refer to Chapter 5, Additional Features .
