Overview of Additional Features
SC-SDT supports the following additional features:
•
Time Protocols
•
Authentication Protocol
•
Contact Sense
•
Chat CLI Communication

System Message Log and Alarm Log

SNMP Traps
Time Protocols
SC-SDT supports Simple Network Time Protocol (RFC2030) and Time Protocol (RFC 868). When
configured for SNTP or TP, SC-SDT will receive and use Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to
timestamp the SNMP traps, System Messages and Alarms when they are generated.
When neither SNTP nor TP is configured, the SC-SDT will use a relative System Up Time for
timestamping.
SNTP/TP Client Configuration Procedure
1. Configure SC-SDT for receiving GMT, type:
configure time server add
[SNTP or TP server IP address]
2. Configure SC-SDT for either SNTP or TP by typing one of the following commands:
•
To configure SC-SDT for SNTP, type:
configure time protocol sntp
[SNTP version number]
•
To configure SC-SDT for TP, type:
configure time protocol tp
3. Enable the desired protocol by typing:
configure enable time

To verify the configuration, type
show time
