9. Configure each sync port with the remote IP address of the far end SC-SDT and the
corresponding port number by typing:
configure ports tport port
[n] [remote IP address] [remote port number]
For example:
configure ports tport port1 192.200.12.7 port2
where local Port 1 is the local port connecting with remote Port 2 on the far end of the link.
Note
The SC-SDT will automatically configure each corresponding remote port with correct port and IP
information so that the local port mirrors the remote port on the other side of the link.
10. Enable each configured sync port to receive and transmit sync data in approximately 20
seconds by typing:
configure ports enable port
[n] or
all
For example:
configure ports enable all
Note
The
ports enable
command is automatically sent to the remote device.
As an alternative, you can type the following to command the sync port to receive and transmit
sync data immediately:
configure ports start-tport
[n] or
all
11. You have completed the basic configuration of the SC-SDT. Check the settings as follows:
•
Type

•
Test your network by pinging from your PC/workstation at the NOC to equipment at the

•

Note
If the following message appears,
tport configuration not complete
, this indicates that the
IP address is not configured or is not correct.
