
You have to insert the key into place to turn
from “ACC” to “LOCK”. For vehicles with
automatic transmission, the shift lever shall be
set to “P” before the key is inserted.
When starting the starter, the key seems to be
locked in “LOCK” position. To release it, first
you should make sure that the key is inserted
in place, then slightly shake the steering wheel
while turning the key.
Warning
Use the key to lock and unlock
Insert the key to the key cylinder and turn it.
Lock: turn the key counterclockwise
Unlock: turn the key clockwise
For vehicles with power door lock system: all
doors are locked or unlocked simultaneously.
Start the car with the key:
“START” — To start motor. When released,
the key will return to the “ON” position.
“ON” — The engine starts and all auxiliary de-
vices are opened. This is normal driving position.
“ACC” — Auxiliary devices such as radio can
be operated but the engine stops.
“LOCK” — Engine stops and the steering wheel is
locked. Only in this position can the key be pulled out.
The key should not be pulled out during
the driving, otherwise the steering wheel
will be locked and the car out of control.
Notice
Do not keep the key in “ON” position while
the engine is not in operation to prevent the
battery discharge and igniter damage.
