4.2.2
Telescopic kelly bar assembly
To mount the telescopic kelly bar one must prepare a hole (preferably coated)
in the ground, at least 0.5 [m] deep, which must be closed appropriately when
it is not used.
Proceed as follows:
•
wear work gloves and a protective helmet;
•
position the kelly bar to be mounted with suitable handling means,
using the connection loop of the main winch cable and making sure that
the kelly bar is not released;
•
position the machine near the hole;
•
position the the machine with the mast in the vertical position at
maximum height and aligned with the hole in the ground;
•
disengage the descent limit switch of the main winch;
•
connect the cable to the swivel joint using the pin 2

;
•
pull the cable so that the kelly bar slowly reaches a vertical alignment;
•
control kelly bar ascent until it has completed its stroke;
•
remount the Kelly drive, the springs and the 4 self-locking nuts;
•
tighten them so that they ensure the same pretensioning to the 4
springs

close the hole with the cover again
