Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
Not enough coffee beans
in the bean hopper.
Before starting operation, ensure that the bean hopper is
filled sufficiently with coffee beans.
The grinder is not adjusted
sufficiently.
Adjust the settings of the appliance according to your
liking. For this, refer to the hints given in chapter ‘Tips
for Best Results’.
The freshness or brand
of your coffee powder
changed.
Flavour and taste of your coffee depend on the type and
freshness of your coffee beans/powder. Adapt the set-
tings accordingly (see: ‘Tips for Best Results’). Use fresh
coffee beans / coffee powder.
Using pre-ground coffee
powder: You did not de-
activate the grinder of
the appliance. Surplus
coffee powder is in the
filter.
When using pre-ground coffee powder, the grinder must
be de-activated for each brewing cycle again. Before
starting the brewing cycle, touch the grinder button for
DE-ACTIVATING the grinder. The grinder button must be
illuminated RED.
When removing the steel
carafe, the coffee drips
from the filter basket still.
The drip-stop valve is
clogged or sticks.
Immediately replace the steel carafe on the base plate of
the appliance. Wait until the brewing cycle is complete,
indicated by the acoustic signal. Before next operation,
thoroughly clean the filter basket rinsing the drip stop
valve repeatedly (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). Before next
use, ensure that the drip-stop valve closes the bottom of
the filter basket correctly.
The filter basket is damaged. Contact your vendor for replacement.
