Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
The filter is clogged.
Using filter bags: Only use filter bags suited for drip coffee
makers. Using the re-usable filter: Clean the re-usable filter
after each use and ensure that the fine mesh is not clogged
(see: ‘Care and Cleaning / Cleaning the Filter Basket,
Splash Shield, and Re-Usable Filter’). Otherwise, replace
the re-usable filter.
The steel carafe is over-
filled.
Immediately unplug the coffee machine. Always ensure
that the steel carafe is completely empty, before swit-
ching on the coffee machine.
An unsuited vessel is
placed under the filter bas-
ket or the steel carafe is
not placed correctly on the
base plate.
Immediately unplug the coffee machine.
During operation, the carafe lid must open the drip-stop
valve at the bottom of the filter basket. The appliance
cannot be operated with the dedicated steel carafe
replaced by other vessels. For operation, place the steel
carafe of the appliance on the base plate of the appli-
ance, and ensure that the steel carafe stands stable and
level, before switching on the appliance (manually via
the on/off button or automatically via the timer button).
The carafe lid is damaged. If the carafe lid is damaged in any way, the carafe lid
must be replaced. Get in contact with your vendor.
The filter basket is dama-
ged.
Check the filter basket for cracks and leaks. Fill some
water into the filter basket and check, whether the water
runs out at the side walls.
The drip-stop valve is
clogged or sticks.
Clean the filter basket and rinse the drip-stop valve tho-
roughly (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). Do not leave any
residues of coffee powder dry on the surfaces of the filter
basket.
Using pre-ground coffee
powder: There is too much
coffee powder in the filter
basket.
Immediately unplug the coffee machine.
Do not fill in more than 8 level measuring spoonful of
coffee powder (approx. 60g).
Using pre-ground coffee
powder: The grind size
of your coffee powder is
too fine.
Immediately unplug the coffee machine.
The coffee will not flow sufficiently with coffee powder that
is too fine. Use a grind size that is suited for drip coffee
makers and/or use smaller amounts of coffee powder.
