8. Wait until the water tank is completely empty and the acoustic signal sounds
(approx. 10 minutes). Carefully take out the steel carafe, avoiding to spill hot water.
Discard the hot water. Rinse the steel carafe and carafe lid with clear tap water.
9. Repeat the steps 6 to 9 once or twice. Thereafter, the appliance is ready for
operation.

During operation, brewing head, filter sys-
tem, steel carafe, and base plate get very hot and hot steam and hot water may
escape. Always ensure to prepare the appliance for operation completely and
correctly according to the instructions given in this booklet, before starting operati-
on to avoid overflow and risk of injuries and damage. Always unplug and wait
until the appliance cooled down, before cleaning or moving the appliance.
During operation and shortly thereafter do not hold your hands or arms under the
brewing head or filter holder to avoid scalds due to hot water and steam.
Do not
use any other but the designated steel carafe with the appliance. The carafe lid
opens the drip-stop valve of the filter basket. Without the steel carafe and cara-
fe lid in place the filter basket will overflow, causing risk of severe burns and
damage due hot water running out.
Before each usage, ensure that the steel carafe is completely undamaged. Do
not use the steel carafe when there are any cracks or chipped edges to avoid
that the steel carafe brakes to pieces and/or splinters get into your beverages,
causing severe injuries.
Always use clear, cold tap water or bottled table water with low mineral content for
operating the appliance. Do not use mineral water, de-mineralised water, or other
liquids. Do not fill other liquids into the water tank (e.g. hot water, milk, or tea) to
avoid damage to the appliance.
Always keep the working space clean and dry. Do not let any liquids run on or under
the housing of the appliance.
Do not pour any liquids into the bean hopper!
Do
not fill the water tank above the maximum filling level 8. Otherwise, surplus water
runs down at the rear of the water tank.
IMPORTANT -
Only use filter bags with size 4 or the provided re-usable filter. Do
not forget to cover the filter via the splash shield.
