Replacing the Blades (SEE FIG. L1, L2)
NOTE.
Before making any adjustment or
maintenance procedures to the lawn mower
ensure it is turned off and the spark plug lead is
removed.
NOTE.
Wear heavy gloves to protect your hands.
1. With the engine switched off, remove the catcher (17) and lift the
front of the lawn mower upwards so the foam grip handlebar (1) sits
on the ground and the spark plug faces upwards.
2. To remove a single blade from the blade mounting plate (46), use a
17mm spanner (not supplied) to loosen and remove the nut, screw
and washers. (See Fig. L2)
3. Replace the blade, and re-assemble the blade assembly in reverse
direction as removing the blade. Using a 17mm spanner (not
supplied) tighten the nut to secure the blade in position. Repeat the
process for the other blade.
WARNING! Risk of injury when working with a damaged
cutting blade.
Re-sharpening the cutting blades
The blade edges can be re-sharpened with a metal
file. To avoid imbalance, the cutting blade re-
sharpening work should only be carried out by an
authorized service center
.
