CAUTION
For vehicles equipped with a diesel particulate filer, the reset func
-
tion affects the regeneration process. Therefore, an oil change should
be made at the same time as reset. Not changing the oil can cause
serious engine damage.
Odometer Synch (L319-04, L320-04, L316)
This raises the odometer value to the one stored in the BCM Body Control ECU. This is used when
replacing the IPC. Due to a known bug in the IPC ECU, the odometer value can only be raised up to
265 000 km. Else, it will not change.
VIN Learn (L319-04, L320-04)
This write the vehicle VIN in the IPC when replacing it. This function will only work on a brand new IPC
or one that was flashed with the special reset firmware. Please contact us for this service.

Adaption clear
(L322-06, L322-10, L319, 6 speed, L405, L494, L538, L460, L461, L462,
L663 8 speed, X540, X761, X590, X760, X260)
Gear shifting time tends to increase as internal components of a transmission wear out. This has a
negative effect on the brake clutches. The transmission ECU will adapt to counteract the effects of
wear and improve shifting.
This routine resets the adaption statistics back to factory default. After adaptions are cleared, the trans
-
mission ECU will analyze shifting behaviors using various sensor readings and compensate accordin
-
gly.
Usage
The adaption reset routine is necessary when at least one of the following components is replaced:
• Transmission oil.
• Any component inside the transmission.
• The transmission ECU.
• Prior to updating the transmission ECU firmware.
CAUTION
The clear adaption routine may cause the transmission to behave
erratically over a period of time. It will need a few drive cycles to get
back to normal. Drive the vehicle normally and make sure that the
transmission shifts all gears.
Clearing adaptions shall only be performed following an oil
change, firmware flash or transmission repair. Clearing adap
-
tions for no reasons on a transmission that is working correctly
may worsen its behavior. In fact any non-needed work made on a
transmission that is working correctly may worsen its behavior.
