INTRODUCTION

1.1 About this Manual

This manual provides information on installing, commissioning, and operating the GAT Access 6100 terminal series
and includes an overview of how to configure the terminals

using GANTNER’s configuration software, “GAT Config

Manager”. There is a separate manual available for GAT Config Manager that explains all functions associated with
the software in greater detail.

The name "GAT Access 6100" is used in this manual to refer to all terminals in the GAT Access 6100 series in
general. When information is only applicable for a certain type of access terminal, the type will be indicated.

1.2 Chapter Overview

In chapter “2 GENERAL INFORMATION”, a functional description of the different GAT Access 6100 terminals,
including the supported RFID technologies, and a summary of the operating modes can be found.

Chapter “3 INSTALLATION” contains the measurement diagrams and information required to install the GAT Access
6100 terminals.

Chapter “4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS” includes information on how to complete the power and network
connections of the GAT Access 6100.

Chapter “5 COMMISSIONING & CONFIGURATION” describes how to put the GAT Access 6100 into operation and
includes how to configure the terminals using GAT Config Manager. The main configuration settings are also
explained and a table listing every setting is provided.

the GAT Access 6100, instructions for end users on how to operate the terminal, and a summary of the audio and
visual signalization.

updates for the GAT Access 6100 to ensure that the correct operation is maintained.

Chapter “8 TROUBLESHOOTING & FAQ” includes answers to frequently asked questions and useful information on
how to solve common issues that you may experience with the GAT Access 6100.

Chapter “9 TECHNICAL DATA” contains all the relevant technical information of the GAT Access 6100 terminals.
