INSTALLATION

This chapter describes the process required to install the GAT Access 6100. This includes the possible installation

locations and what to consider during installation.

Risk of damage or failure to the GAT Access 6100

Read the information in this section carefully before installing the device.

Install the device in a dry place, protected from rain and dripping water.

Carefully observe the installation diagrams.

Use the correct tools to install the device.

3.1

Target Group

This chapter provides information for technicians who install the GAT Access 6100. Experience in mechanical work

and basic electrical knowledge is required. Previous knowledge of the GAT Access 6100 or GANTNER access

systems is not required.

3.2

General Information

The GAT Access 6100 terminals can be mounted directly onto a flat surface such as a wall. The device rear part
attaches to the flat surface (e.g., concrete wall) using screws.

NOTE!

The GAT Access 6100 must not be mounted directly onto a metallic surface as this material can adversely

affect the reading field so that the data carriers may not be read anymore.

When installing onto an uneven surface, the device rear part must not be distorted as this will prevent the correct
connection of the front part. The recommended mounting height is 1.3 m to the middle of the device. Use the drilling
template that is attached to the device to mark out the mounting holes.

In the following sections, the installation of the GAT Access 6100, GAT Access 6100 F PoE, and GAT Access 6100
F BIO are described. The GAT Access 6100 F Enrollment Station has a stand and can be simply placed, for example,
onto a table without any further installation requirements.

For instructions on installing the GAT TimeAxx 6150, see chapter “3.7 GAT TimeAxx 6150 Installation”.
