8.2.1 The Profibus Port
The Profibus port is on the front of the module near the center as
shown in
Figure 8-1 on page 135 . The pinout for the Profibus port
is shown below.

8.2.2 The Configuration (RS232) Port
There is an RS232 port on the lower front of the module as shown
in
Figure 8-1 on page 135 . This is used to connect to a PC in order
to download a file representing your Profibus network.

It is strongly recommended that you use Profibus Sub-
D connectors with switchable (ON/OFF) termination,
such as Siemens
6ES7 972-0BA11-0XA0 or
6ES7 972-0BB11-0XA0.
Only use Profibus type A cable, such as Belden 3079A
or Siemens 6XV1 830-0AH10.
