3.4.8. Port 0 and 1 as R5232 interface
The ports 0 and 1 can be configured as RS232 interface.
You must pay attention to the following:
- Make sure that the RS232 interface is correctly connected to the appropriate port (0 or 1),
if necessary, connect it (see point 4.4).
- By taking off the check mark in the field "RS422 ON/OFF (default on use RS422)" in the
port (0 or 1) of the configuration you must communicate which port (0 or 1) is used as
RS232 interface
- The basic setting is a set check mark; this means the interface is defined as RS422.

3.4.9. Configuration of the magicplex8 GIC Pro, mag GIC Pro Filters
Filters are important characteristics to enhance the efficiency and performance of the multiplexer.
Especially when data are routed from a fast port or several ports to a slow port there is a
possibility of a bottleneck effect. There are 2 different possibilities of filtering:
- Output filters let the data sets, which have been set in the filter, pass through and refuse all
others
- Input filters are barriers, which refuse the data sets that have been set in the filter
You can define for each port a list of filters to be applied to this port. A filter is a part of a
NMEA sentence. For example:
The filter "GGA" will filter "GPGGA" sentences but not "GPGLL" sentences.
The filter "GLL" will filter "GPGLL" sentences but not "GPGGA" sentences.
The filter "GP" will filter "GPGGA" sentences and "GPGLL" sentences.
