9.9 Maintenance Service
This section explains the details of the maintenance service.
If the cause of the failure is uncertain or if the original condition cannot be restored,
contact the seller or an office listed in the "Contact Information" of "Start Guide".
9.9.1 Maintenance Services
■
Maintenance Support Period
The maintenance support period is for five years after the purchase of the server.
■
Non-durable Components
Depending on the environment and usage of the customer, non-durable components of the server may
need to be replaced during the maintenance support period.
Customers who have signed up to hardware maintenance contact will be provided with replacement
parts free of charge and will have higher priority for replacement. Customers not signed up to hardware
maintenance contact will be charged for operation cost (including the maintenance parts) separately.
Replacing non-durable components
To ensure stable operation of the server system, it is recommended that a maintenance service
agreement be purchased.
Lifetime of Non-durable Components
The lifetime of such components is calculated based on appropriate usage environments.
Although the guaranteed range for operation is set between 10°C and 35°C, the lifetime is assumed at
a constant average temperature of 25°C.
Lifetime of Non-durable Components
With RAS Assist Service, a message reminding to replace certain parts can be set to appear in the
panel or console of the server. Non-durable components are supposed to be replaced in the periodical
maintenance performed after these messages appear.
They can be continuously used for approximately 1 year after the messages. However, note that it is
necessary to immediately contact maintenance support if the messages appear prompting you to
change UPS batteries.
