SECTION 1
1.
Turn off the computer and disconnect the AC adapter from it.
2.
Plug a LAN cable in the LAN port on the back of the computer.
(Your computer or situation may not look exactly like this illustration.)
3.
Connect the LAN cable to the network connection device.
4.
Plug the LAN cable in the network device.
Plug the other end of the cable connected in step 2 in the port on the network connection device,
and turn on the network connection device.
5.
Connect the AC adapter to the computer and turn on the computer.
6.
Click the Start button and select Control Panel.
7.
Click Performance and Maintenance, then Power Options.
8.
On the Power Schemes page, set the items below, and click OK when you are through.
- System standby: Never
- System hibernates: Never
These settings prevent Windows from automatically placing your computer into standby or
hibernation mode.
