Mains switch
Ready indicator
... glows when the mains switch is on I
Overtemperature
indicator
glows when ...
- the machine is thermally overloaded
- the mains plug of the cooling unit is not plugged in
- the cooling unit is out of order
- the water throughflow is insufficient (only with optional rate-of-flow
watchdog)
Over / undervoltage indicator
glows ...
- when the mains voltage is outside the tolerance range (power source
cuts out)
- for 10 sec in the event of supply voltage dips or overvoltage peaks
(power source switches itself off and straight back on again)
Program selector switch
(0-99) for selecting the required pulsed-arc,
standard or T.I.M.E. welding program, depending on the shielding gas and
filler metal
Manual / No Program indicator
- is lit up all the time in MIG/MAG manual mode (with TR 34 T.I.M.E. remote
control unit) if a programmed position is selected on the program selector
switch
- is lit up all the time in manual electrode welding
- flashes if a non-programmed position is selected on the program selector
switch
Intermediate arc indicator
... Between the dip-transfer arc and the spray
arc, a spatter-prone intermediate arc occurs. To help the welder avoid this,
the Intermediate arc indicator lights up when such an arc occurs.
T.I.M.E. indicator
... glows when a T.I.M.E. program is selected - the
scale for wirefeed speed 0-30 m/min applies.
Hold indicator
... every time you finish a welding operation, the actual
values for welding current and voltage are stored, and the Hold indicator
lights up
m/min - mm - V selector switch
... for selecting the desired function:
m/min.......Wirefeed speed
mm..........Sheet thickness
V.............Open-circuit voltage or welding voltage
m/min - mm - V indicator
- Wirefeed speed (m/min) ... Command value in MIG/MAG program
and manual modes
- Sheet thickness (mm) in MIG/MAG program mode
- Welding voltage (V) ... Command value in MIG/MAG program mode
- Welding voltage (V) ... Actual value in MIG/MAG program and manual
modes, and in manual-electrode mode
- Welding voltage (V) ... Hold-value in MIG/MAG program and manual
modes
N.B.!
If the letter H appears in front of the sheet thickness in the display (e.g.
H12), this means that the value displayed cannot be increased any further,
even if the welding power is increased.
Welding current indicator
- Command value in MIG/MAG manual or manual-electrode mode
- Actual value in MIG/MAG program and manual modes
- Hold-value in MIG/MAG program mode
N.B.!
Definition of the terms command value, actual value and hold value:
- The command value is the desired value which can be pre-selected
(depending on the welding process in question), and which is shown when
the machine is in open circuit
- The actual value is the real value displayed during the welding operation
- The hold value is the stored value which is displayed at the end of the
welding operation.
P-Start dial
... 0 - 30 m/min (T.I.M.E.) or 1 - 10 (Power)
Recommended setting for T.I.M.E.: 9 m/min
- Depending on the contents of the T.I.M.E. display, the scale refers to
wirefeed speed (0 - 30 m/min) or welding power (1-10)
- P-Start influences the stability of the arc in the ignition phase (reliable
arc ignition) and for the boxing of weld-seams
- In the T.I.M.E. 4-step mode, P-Start can be used to set the start-up
wirefeed speed; this set value is an absolute value, i.e. it is independent
of whatever value has been set for the welding power
