Mains connection
The devices are designed for the mains voltage specified on the rating plate. The fuse pro-
tection required for the mains lead can be found in the "Technical data" section. If there is
no mains cable or mains plug on your device, fit one that conforms to national standards.
NOTE!
An inadequately dimensioned electrical installation can cause serious damage.
The mains lead and its fuse must be dimensioned to suit the inverter being used. The tech-
nical data shown on the rating plate applies. The ground conductor must also be duplicated
and have the same cross section as the connection lead.
The following points must be considered in relation to the electrical connection:
-
Operation of the inverter on asymmetric power supply systems (one mains phase
earthed) is not permitted.
-
The inverter may only be operated on earthed systems, e.g. TT or TN systems.
An insulating transformer with secondary earthed centre tap must be used on un-
earthed systems (e.g. IT system). One-sided earthing of the intermediate circuit is not
permitted.
-
Fuse protection of the power supply side is required.
-
Operation on systems with normal residual current circuit breakers is not permitted as
fault currents could flow back from the intermediate circuit via the earth to the mains
without the residual current circuit breaker being triggered.
-
If you use a fault current protection device on the power supply side, this must be de-
signed for operation with medium frequency systems with a direct current intermediate
circuit and a frequency of 1000 Hz! Check the manufacturer's specifications for the rel-
evant information. Always follow the applicable instructions!
-
Ensure the mains voltage is within the permitted range.
Range information can be found in the technical data of the relevant inverter-specific
sections and on the inverter's rating plate.
Guidelines for
system cooling
The coolant supply and cleanliness of the coolant must always be checked before starting
the welding system.
CAUTION!
Danger of burns from hot coolant.
Do not check coolant until it has cooled down.
NOTE!
Inadequate cooling can cause damage to property.
Never operate welding plant without adequate cooling. The manufacturer shall not be liable
for damage caused by inadequate cooling.
NOTE!
The system operator must ensure that the coolant is prefiltered through a coarse, 5
μ filter.
