5f Electronic upper thread tension: artista 640
What to test:
•
Electronic default of upper thread tension.
•
The default value 85 + 8 g equals the value 0.
What to adjust:
•
Use the stitch width knob and/or “+” and “-“ icons to adjust the
default value.
•
Press Reset to return to default.
•
Press OK to save the value. This brings you back to menu 5.
•
Press ESC to return to menu 5 without saving.
Repairing note:
•
The mechanical default value of the upper thread tension must be correctly set (
p. 64
).
Note:
•
The advantage of the electronic upper thread tension lies in the fact that it can be adjusted without
removing the covers.
5g BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) foot sewing program:
What to test:
•
BSR foot sewing-off in customer’s view.
What to adjust:
•
Attach and connect BSR foot.
•
Drop feed-dog, thread machine, and place fabric under foot.
•
Press Start/Stop button. Move fabric in different directions.
•
Press CLR to return to service program.
Repairing note:
•
Check BSR foot sensor for dirt. Clean or replace if necessary.
•
Check BSR connector.
