4.20 artista 640 stitch plate holder
Disassembly:
1. Remove
covers.
2. Remove rotary hook (
see p. 39
).
3. Loosen screws (
13
) so that the hinge pin can be slided out to the left.
4. Remove the 3 screws (
12
) and stitch plate holder.
Assembly:
1. Slide stitch plate holder back in and attach screws (
12
). Stitch plate holder must still be movable.
2. Set stitch length crank manually to shortest stitch length (to stop).
3. Set needle bar to highest position.
4. Position centering gauge in stitch plate holder.
5. Place V-notched paralleling gauge on feed-dog
shaft (
14 and 15
) and stitch plate holder (
16 and
17
).
6. Slightly press paralleling gauge against the four
supporting points. Check position of centering
gauge.
7. Retighten screws (
12
). Check the position again
after tightening the screws.
8. Slide hinge pin back in. Tighten screws (
13
).
9. Slide hook back in.
10. Set belt tension.
11. Fit and set bobbin case retainer.
12. Adjust hook.
13. Check feed-dog lateral position.
14. Refit covers.
15. Carry out a functional check.
