4.4.5 Create Hot Spare
The “Create Hot Spare” option (Figure 4-5) gives you the ability to define a global hot spare
drive. When you choose the “Create Hot Spare” option under “Raid Set Function”, all unused
physical devices connected to the current controller will be displayed. Select the disk(s) you
want to make hot spares, check the “Confirm The Operation” checkbox, and click “Submit”.

4.4.6 Delete Hot Spare
The “Delete Hot Spare” option (Figure 4-6) gives you the ability to delete a global hot spare
drive. Select the Hot Spare disk to delete by checking the appropriate check box. Check the
“Confirm The Operation” checkbox and click “Submit” to delete the hot spare drive(s).
