Mounting the ball bearing:

Screw the thread rod into the generator shafts’ tap hole as far as possible.

Fig. 6.10.2-26: Mount the ball bearing

Push the ball bearing, the pressure ladle and the washer up
against the shaft, then screw on the hex nuts. Grease/lubricate
the thread rod.

Guide the ball bearing with one hand to avoid canting on the
shaft.

Put the screw wrench on the long nut with the other hand and
tighten it slowly.
